WHO WE ARE...since 1928

The TAS is a diverse group of people with all levels of experience taking part in research and training through Academies, Field School, and the Annual Meeting.

TAS promotes and encourages: 

  • learning about Texas archeology
  • scientific archeological research
  • preservation and conservation of materials and sites
  • interpretation and publication of archeological data
  • building a community of inclusion

TAS does not condone:

  • buying and selling artifacts for commercial purposes
  • disregard of proper archeological research techniques
  • willful destruction or distortion of archeological data

The TAS is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization.

    The TAS Board of Directors invite you to register for the 96th Annual Meeting of the Texas Archeological Society October 10-12, 2025. The meeting will be held at the Embassy Suites by Hilton McAllen Convention Center in McAllen, Texas.

    On Friday night, October 10th, Amy Borgens will be the Public Forum Speaker. Amy is the State Marine Archeologist with the Texas Historical Commission.  Our keynote speaker, Dr. Sarah Rowe, with the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, will present during the banquet on Saturday evening, October 11th.

    Deadline to register for meals is September 24th. Conference Registration rates increase on September 25th.
