Diversity Program Scholarships
The Diversity subcommittee will encourage interested individuals to participate in the Texas Archeological Society by offering scholarships to Society programs (Annual Meeting, the Archeology Academy, and Field School), contingent on funding being available. Applications will be available online; Diversity subcommittee members will review and determine scholarship recipients. The chosen individuals will receive the same stipend and offerings provided the Native American and Collegiate Scholarship recipients. Applicants need not be students to be eligible.

General Guidelines

Persons may apply for TAS scholarships under all three programs, and for multiple events. Once an individual has received any TAS scholarship, however, they must wait 10 months from the date of the scholarship award before applying for another scholarship. This will allow TAS to provide scholarship opportunities to as many different individuals as possible. The deadline to apply is approximately two weeks before each event's registration deadline, unless other deadlines apply (paper submissions, etc. for Annual Meeting). Check the scholarship form or website event home page for specific dates each year.  For further information contact Diversity@txarch.org

Archeology Academy Scholarship

The Diversity scholarship recipient will be registered as an individual or student TAS member for the current year, if not already a member, and will receive the Bulletin of the Texas Archeological Society and Texas Archeology newsletter. Academy registration will be covered; this includes a CD version of the manual, lunches and snacks during Academy sessions, and any materials needed.  Scholarships may include partial reimbursement for the expenses of persons traveling long distances to the Academy.  The recipient will be able to choose the Academy he or she wishes to attend.  The deadline to apply is approximately two weeks before each Academy's registration deadline; check scholarship form for actual date.  Please take into account that popular courses may fill up before the stated registration deadline.
